THE PRINCIPLE OF YOGĀKṢARA IN THE LONTAR TATTWA OLD JAVANESE

Balinese Akṣara functions as a medium in socio-cultural life, especially related to religious functions. The script as an intermediary for the harmony of the relationship (yuj) of the self with the creator or known as yogākṣara. This paper uses hermeutic theory and symbol theory. using transcription or transliteration method, listening method on lontar tattwa. Data analysis used the distributed method and the translational equivalent method. then it will be presented using formal and informal methods. Balinese script in lontar tattwa found the use of wreastra, swalalita and modre. yogākṣara in lontar tattwa using Dasākṣara is like a password that connects to the ocean of cosmic energy, used to clean and purify, these two functions are related to all religious activities in Bali. A number of these characters are then rotated for placement in the internal organs, during the practice of yoga with certain asanas 'postures'. The specific technique of training is also combined with breath work (pranayama) and the astangga yoga "yogākṣara". The ongkara (oṁkara) is the form of the whole world. Oṁkara as a mantra and means of unification in yogāksara serves to focus human consciousness at one point of unity with the universe. Understanding the meaning of Oṁkara correctly and well is a means and a way for the aware to achieve kaśūnyatan or kamokṣān or immortality.
